National Development Bank PLC was awarded the coveted “Bank of the Year Sri Lanka” title as adjudged by Global Finance USA for the year 2022 in its 29th edition of awards for the World’s Best Banks.
The Global Finance Awards are one of the major awards in the Banking & Financial Services Sector, across the globe. Accordingly, this is the second consecutive year the Bank was named “Best Bank in Sri Lanka” having won it in 2021 and the fourth year that NDB won this award, having won same in 2015 and 2018 previously.
NDB Bank has been charting a new course in the Sri Lankan banking landscape under the Bank’s brand ethos “The Future is Banking on Us”. The Bank has excelled in customer-centric solutions and deploying digitization at an impressive pace over the past few years despite the many challenges and obstacles in their path.

The 29th Best Bank Awards ceremony will be held in Washington D.C. during the IMF World Bank Annual Meetings.
This win for NDB comes in the light of NDB being recognised as the “Best Digital Bank 2021” at the Asiamoney Best Bank Awards for Sri Lanka in addition being named the “Most Awarded Corporate 2021” as per LMD ranking. The Bank was also recently awarded two Gold awards for Financial Inclusivity and Best Common ATM Enabler of the Year and one Merit Award Excellence in Customer Convenience at the Lankapay Technnovation Awards 2022.
