NDB Bank Hosts Exporters’ Forum to Drive Economic Recovery and Growth in Sri Lanka

NDB Bank proudly hosted an Exporter Forum on March 26, 2024, aimed at fostering collaboration and driving economic recovery and growth in Sri Lanka. The event, held at the Ramada Hotel, brought together industry leaders, policymakers, and exporters to discuss strategies for boosting foreign exchange earnings and supporting the nation's prosperity.

Helmed under NDB’s ‘Jayagamu Sri Lanka’ platform, which aimed at extending financial and non-financial support to Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (SMEs), emerging exporters, aspiring entrepreneurs, and enthusiastic innovators in Sri Lanka, the forum strived to empower local businesses and bolster the nation’s economy. The exporter forum and the Bank’s numerous strategic partnerships reaffirmed its role as a catalyst for growth in the export sector.

NDB’s CEO, Mr. Kelum Edirisinghe, underlined the Bank's dedication to empowering exporters and facilitating their success in the global marketplace. In recognition of the invaluable contributions to the export sector, the Bank presented tokens of appreciation to Dr. Kinsgley Bernard, the Chairman of the Export Development Board (EDB), for his insightful speech on “Opportunities for Exporters and the Current Business Environment,” while Ms. Ayesha Ashanthi, the Commissioner of the Inland Revenue Department (IRD), was also rewarded for sharing her valuable expertise on "Applicable Tax Systems for Exporters."
