Position: Head of Credit Risk

Job Profile

This position is responsible for supporting to the Chief Risk Officer in managing the Credit Risk of the Bank. He / she will have a good knowledge of credit underwriting, portfolio dynamics, product structures, market and macroeconomic dynamics and your analytical skills in ensuring credit decisions meet established credit selection criteria and lending benchmarks as set out by Credit Risk Policy. He / she will provide futuristic views to CRO and Senior Management in managing the credit quality of the Bank to support in decision making on the portfolio and be involved in reviewing the Risk Appetite for Credit risks and capital planning and budgeting in the ICAAP process & conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis on each credit application assigned to arrive at a reasonable assurance on repayment ability of the prospective borrower and ensure adherence to the Credit Policy and regulatory environment. As the Head-Credit Risk you would also be required to provide inputs in the impairment calculation process along with the other stakeholders as per the policy.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelors’ degree from reputable university or a professional qualification in Banking, Finance, Credit
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Banking – preferably underwriting or in business
Skills & Competencies

  • Self-starter and ability work independently
  • Good understanding of Customer Acquisition and Credit Underwriting
  • Good understanding of credit risk models/ methodologies and determination of cut-offs based on unit economics/ profitability models. Knowledge of modelling using machine learning and data analytics is a plus
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills in conducting analysis using customer performance data, portfolio and product designs, credit bureau/ vendor data, and market data to make profitable underwriting decisions
  • Strong communication and presentation skills and an ability to transform data into insight to support decision making
  • Strong interpersonal skills
