Head of Acquiring

Position: Head of Acquiring

Are you a dynamic and experienced professional looking to lead and innovate in the rapidly evolving world of Merchant Acquiring? We are seeking a highly qualified individual to fill the position of Head of Acquiring. This key role involves developing and executing strategies to deliver a suite of Merchant Acquiring products that meet customer needs, contributing to increased profitability and optimizing product offerings.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Market Expansion- Propose and implement product development initiatives to tap into market opportunities, build new clientele, and expand existing profitable client relationships.
  • Sales Support- Assist branches in sourcing incremental Merchant Accounts through innovative contests, promotions, and product innovations.
  • Client Management- Provide technical, operational, product, sales, and service support to an assigned group of Merchants across multiple territories and large corporate clients.
  • Revenue Generation- Ensure sustained and healthy revenue generation on all POS-linked accounts, focusing on increasing transaction revenue for the Bank.
  • Product Development- Develop and maintain comprehensive point-of-sale hardware and software solutions, payment gateway solutions, connectivity options, and other payment-related applications.
  • Compliance- Ensure documentation of all operations and processes adheres to CBSL regulations, internal policies, and statutory terms imposed by local authorities.
Academic/Professional Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 7 to 8 years of experience in sales and marketing with hands-on experience in product development and management.
  • Degree level or post-graduate level professional qualification from a recognized institute/university locally or internationally, and/or professional qualification in CIM or equivalent.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the international and local payments industry and Merchant Acquiring business.
  • Vendor/business partner management skills would be a definite advantage.
  • Sound business acumen and self-motivated with a result-driven approach.

  • Strong negotiation, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • A team player with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Decision-making skills and ability to work collaboratively.
