Database Administrator
Job Role
Administering and controlling the organization's database management systems
Responsibilities
- Management of large scale Oracle database environments
- Management of Mongo/ MySQL/MSSQL Etc.
- RMAN and data pump utility operations
- Monitoring - Eg: Enterprise Manager
- Management of data replication
- Provide day-to-day management of database environments which include monitoring, troubleshooting and upgrading existing databases
- Prepare documentation and follow change control processes
- Provide database design, direction and support for internal teams
- Performing research and support for database/license optimization and new technology adaption
- Configuring and setting up disaster recovery and test environments
- Perform upgrades and patching of database environments to align with the Bank's security practices
- Work in accordance with the IT Security Policy of the Bank
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or equivalent IT experience
- Oracle certifications such as - OCA/OCP will be an added advantage
Work Experience
- Experience with medium to large databases in an enterprise environment with Oracle
- Experience in SQL Server MSSQL PostgreSQL
- 2-3 years hands on experience with RDBMS administration
Skills and Capabilities
- Proficiency in database administration
- Proficiency in designing and developing SQL and stored procedures
- Schema normalization, index tuning and bulk data import/export
- Ability to automate repetitive tasks via automation scripting using industry standard tools
- Good understanding of operating systems such as Oracle Linux, Oracle Solaris, Red Hat Linux & Windows Server platforms
- Experience in RAC deployments and version upgrades
